Designing Your Self applies my principles of Visual Harmony that can be explained, analyzed, and understood. These are objective, logical, yet simple premises that can apply to any individual and any garment.

Because we tested the Designing Your Self System™ in-person on thousands of women (and men) over many years, I know it works. It can consistently give you what you dream of. I know it works because I’ve taught the approach and proven that it can be learned and applied by anyone.

You can take the guess work out of shopping and dressing yourself.  Gain the ability to answer questions around how you look wearing any garment or accessory. You can understand why it works (or why doesn’t) and even know how to adjust it.

This System answers questions that you’ve likely been asking yourself for years. Here are some of the questions this system can answer for you as an individual:

1) Who could wear this garment?

Designing Your Self explains what type of a person would look good in it why. You can also determine if it would look good on anybody, and the specific reasons why or why not.

 2) How compatible is this garment with my unique visual Harmony Pattern™?

Does this look good on me (or anyone) and why? What works specifically and what doesn’t? Which design elements will work or not in this case? What would have to be different for this to be harmonious on me?

3) How congruent are individual design elements in this garment or accessory?

Do the design elements go together well? Does the line work with the texture? Can the shape go with the scale? Is the color compatible with the style? Is this garment coherent or incoherent? A lot of clothes are designed in a way that they would not look good on anyone. (You can learn to recognize these and avoid buying them!)

4) Who can look harmonious (good) in the parts of the clothing?

This can be discussed from any individual functional part of a garment, such as necklines, collars, lapels, sleeve styles, jacket length, etc. For example, with collars, questions are, ‘Who can wear shawl collars? Who can wear rounded collars? Who can wear angular collars? Who looks good in a soft cowl neck?

5) How do these accessories work on an individual wearing this outfit?

The degree of harmony in anything — from your eyeglasses, bags, shoes to even buttons and trim — can be determined. This can get very specific. Who can wear rectangular shiny silver earrings that are this size? Or, who can wear these identical earrings that are dull instead of shiny?

6) How can garments and accessories can be congruently combined? Why or why not?

Does this necklace go with this dress? Can this belt be worn with this scarf? What would it take for this blouse to be worn with this skirt? Could it possibly look good?

Fashion is not the same as style.

  • Fashion is the latest clothing which reflect trends and tendencies.
  • Style refers to a message and look…levels of dressiness and quality.

Your ideal style is a congruent look and message created when you wear clothing that is good on you in the right way – and at the right time. Designing Your Self™ shows you that once you know who you are and what looks good, you can create your own style.

Designers can still create and fashion can still evolve. Women will always buy and wear new clothes.

Yet, countless women today care more about having a style they love than they care about fashion. We care about looking good and feeling good. We care about how we look when dressed appropriately for our real life, being confident, empowered, and happy. We care about being the best version of ourselves.

Designing Your Self gives you – and any woman – the ability to be who you truly dream of being.

Who do you dream of being?
